Meditation on the Hummingbird...

The LORD encourages us to think about how the birds & animals are cared for by GOD each day...no zookeeper has to go around the forest feeding each bird, animal or plant...yet billions of creatures continue to exist, grow & thrive...and the same God has promised that He sees & care about us...even though we may sometimes feel as insignificant as a hummingbird...

Now, treading where angels fear to tread...
What is massage therapy really like?
Well, it all depends.....for the relatively young & unscathed by too many accidents & tribulations, you may feel nothing but sheer relaxation & maybe even, dare we say?  Bliss...!
And, this is attainable even for the less young & more scathed by a lighter touch massage.  Swedish massage was "discovered" by a Swedish cavalry officer who decided that, if a rubdown helped the horses, after a long day's riding, that maybe a rubdown would help his aches & pains.  Today, Swedish massage is useful for aches & pains but mainly used to relax & de-stress.

This sounds pretty "fluffy", and, depending on the therapist, can be just a temporary feel-good, but let's not under-estimate the "stress-relief" aspect.  Stress is actually a Killer.
Implicated in the faster aging of the body, disease, cancer.  So, although the term is used frequently & lightly, when it comes to massage therapy, it is serious, anti-aging therapy.

As a long time therapist, I have learned  to "tailor" each massage to your personal problems, but communication will make this more pleasant & quicker for you. Please feel free to talk:  is the pressure too hard or too soft?  Do you have questions about the type of massage?   I want you to feel comfortable communicating about discomfort, so that I can do my best to be helpful in achieving the best de-stress for you.  Some feel more comfortable clothed.  But, no matter what, your modesty & privacy are respected.  Personal areas remain covered.  So whatever your stress: just contact your friendly, local massage therapist.

Well, not for massage therapists...we have a special, folding table that travels well, and for those who prefer having a house call, they are available!
Sometimes it's too painful to drive, or someone is elderly, or just toooo exhausted.  So, yes, we make housecalls, call today for your appointment!  (864)233-2820.

Ready or NOT!

Ready or Not:  Here it comes!  A New Spring & a New Blog!
Spring is Springing!  Lots of new activities, and opportunites to be outside without that
heavy coat and bulky clothes....time for sports, gardening & walking outside!
A time to renew yourself, physically...

My goal is to help you with that renewal...did you know, you can speed up or slow down aging with the choices you make each day?
I'd love to help you grow older more slowly, by giving you helpful information on my blog.
Also, I'd love to hear from you as well!

First of all:  A chiropractor introduced me to massage therapy...my first thought was of the old movies... Roman Emperors getting massaged, with servants serving them wine & feeding them grapes....hmmmmm, how could that be related to health?
Wasn't it just for rich people on vacation?  Well, all it took was one massage for me to realize that: my back pain was gone, my headaches were fewer, it didn't cost an arm & a leg, and it felt wonderful!

That wonderful feeling is called:  Having less pain, feeling like jogging instead of slogging.
Feeling more optimistic & alive!  So, put a Spring in your step!  All it takes is an email to set an appointment!
